How I work - my approach

There may be a particular event or issue which brings you to therapy, or maybe you have conflicting thoughts, feelings or beliefs you would like to explore.

Through the experience of psychotherapy, I help you to know yourself better, gain perspective and find self-compassion. It may also be a place where you feel more able to open up and explore difficult parts of yourself.

I use a number of recognised approaches to meet your preferences and needs and see the process as collaborative and relational. As a trauma-informed practitioner, I work with awareness of trauma in the body, careful to manage painful feelings and not let them overwhelm you.

If you are experiencing addiction, we can explore the feelings that drive these behaviours and work with your desires to numb painful feelings, helping to break the addiction cycle and move towards a more rewarding life.
